Pum

The Pum Prospect is located approximately 3km from our Shambesai Gold Project in the Kyrgyz Republic, Central Asia.

The prospect displays similar geological characteristics to Shambesai with excellent oxide ore potential.

Manas undertook drilling at Pum in Q2 2011 using two man-portable rigs for 2,000m of drilling. Sixteen shallow holes targeting oxide mineralisation on the limestone contact have been completed.

The first hole at Pum - 8.9m at 2.89g/t gold from 15m including 5.5m at 3.95g/t gold from 16m - has discovered a significant zone of gold mineralisation which remains open in all directions. Further holes intersected low-grade mineralisation away from the limestone contact, and as a result a ground geophysics program has been completed to establish the direction of the contact.

The Pum discovery hole in a similar geologic environment to Shambesai was an outstanding milestone for the project area. It demonstrated a high probability that "Shambesai type" ore bodies may be discovered elsewhere on the same structures within Manas' exploration licences. The discovery of shallow oxide mineralisation close to Shambesai has the potential to further enhance the already robust project economics.

Work is underway on obtaining 30 line kilometres of ground geophysics from Pum East to Pum West. Further drilling at Pum is planned upon interpretation of the geophysics results.
